Leave those situations-Raytheon is a huge company and while I’ve only ever had a Raytheon badge I’ve worked 10+ completely different jobs across multiple functions. You will hit roadblocks and may have passionless leaders or those incapable or unwilling to help. Learn finances and have a basic understanding of how your functional role contributes to Bookings/sales/earnings/cash. Raytheon is a collection of programs organized into portfolios of greater complexity, the more diverse your experience the more valuable you are. Support as many programs in as many phases of their lifecycle as possible, different customers, contract types etc. In terms of how to advance, my advice is try new things and don’t fear new assignments. I’ll share my perspective and what’s been my experience, your career and goals are inherently personal. I don't know how things get better until leadership stop being polite and start getting real. There has been no trust in leadership for some time, and it continues to get exacerbated every day. Discussed at length on other threads, but again completely misleading statements that even the scarecrow could see through. It will have dual benefits for our performance as well as Giving you additional work life flexibility. Just say, in order to hit our financial targets for 2022 we are offering this program. It was obvious to anyone with a pulse on the business that this was solely to increase billable hours to claw back to AOP. Was communicated as a way to improve employee flexibility because people were 'having trouble taking their PTO' even though it was first communicated as early as May. The communications, when they're there, make it appear that leadership believes this company is comprised of morons. Here's ONE of my biggest concerns right now about my business and this company.
